The last few months on the cryptocurrency exchange have brought a strong reshuffle. New, promising altcoins have been launched. We present a list of new noteworthy items

  1. Cardano (ADA) – based on a public blockchain ledger, Cardano aims to create a multi-level platform for smart contacts. Since its launch, ADA has already achieved considerably high capitalization, and in the future, it may jeopardize Ethereum’s position. Interestingly enough, it’s the first cryptocurrency based strictly on the system of academic methodology, and its name comes from the name of a physician and an astrologer Girolamo Cardano on the one hand, and, on the other hand, from the name of Ada Lovelace, a female creator of the first programming language. At present, Cardano is one of the most complex blockchain-based projects. Its launch at the crypto exchange was preceded by two years of work, and a partially new programming language called Plutus was used for programming.
  2. TRON (TRX) – a cryptocurrency created by the Chinese programmer and entrepreneur Justin Sun. It was intended to be launched mainly on the market of the Middle Kingdom, and unexpectedly fast began to conquer Europe. Initially based on the Ethereum blockchain system, TRON quickly developed its own block technology. Unlike many cryptocurrencies, mined with a processor, TRON takes up hard drive memory, creating a decentralized database. In the future, this is intended to serve as the basis for a game-streaming platform independent from the Communist Party of China. An interesting fact is that TRON can be purchased in Poland through a voucher.
  3. Stellar Lumens (XLM) – for a change, this cryptocurrency is a worthy Ripple’s competitor. With Lumens you can transfer funds from anywhere in the world, with instant confirmation and virtually no commission. Unlike most cryptocurrencies of this kind, Lumens cannot be mined, but their source includes the inflation rate, which is about 1% per year. The creators set themselves the goal of creating a currency that is as stable as possible, easy to process and store. Even though the project has been underway since 2015, XLM has only recently been launched on larger crypto exchanges.
  4. SportsFix (SFT) – few cryptocurrencies seem to be related to sports games, but SportsFix is trying to fill this niche. This cryptocurrency is owned by a company that broadcasts games at a local and international level in East Asia. In exchange for SFT tokens, fans will be able to support their teams, pay for seats at stadiums or pay a subscription to watch broadcasts with their favourite teams. The SportsFix platform is, therefore, supposed to be something like Netflix dedicated to sport, with a cryptocurrency as the primary means of payment.
  5. Zcash (ZEC) – another payment network project – but this time based on the Ethereum blockchain system. Zcash’s main slogan is privacy – the platform has a number of dedicated technologies to ensure maximum security of transactions. Unlike most cryptocurrencies, Zcash’s sender’s and recipient’s data are kept secret in a public blockchain. In spite of that, for the time being the vast majority of transactions with ZEC are public, but users value this currency for its ease of acquisition and high capitalisation.

These five selected cryptocurrencies are very promising as at the end of 2018. And which one is your favourite?
